Some of the most exciting fishing can be found in northern Wyoming's magnificent Big Horn Mountains and Bighorn National Forest. Over 200 mountain lakes and streams abound with Rainbow, Brook, Cutthroat (Native), German Brown and Golden Trout and Grayling. You can even cast your line right into the South Fork of Clear Creek for those fighting Rainbow and German Brown Trout.
Fishing in the Cloud Peak Wilderness Area on one of our expertly guided pack trips or drop camps is a great way to experience some great fishing in the more remote areas of the Big Horn Mountains and Bighorn National Forest. We pack you and your personal equipment into one of our wilderness camps. Our camp has comfortable tents for shelter and a cook tent with our own cook to prepare three hearty mountain meals for you each day. See our page on Pack Trips and Drop Camps for more information.
A fishing adventure can be tailored to your needs by our experienced guides and outfitters. We can take up to 10 people on each guided fishing trip. During your wilderness trip, we transport you by horseback to different mountain lakes and streams to provide you with a variety of scenery, settings and fishing experiences.
Wildlife is plentiful in the Cloud Peak Wilderness Area. Mule deer, elk and moose are frequently seen near our wilderness camps. Wildlife and spectacular scenery makes a camera a must for these trips.
We have Wyoming fishing licenses and conservations stamps available at the Lodge for the convenience of our guests.
Experience a memorable mountain adventure during your stay. Native wildlife, including moose, elk, deer and antelope are often seen from the roadways and trails. Opportunities to see these animals up close increase if you take our guided horseback tours, pack trips or drop camps into the more remote mountain areas. If you are interested in big game hunting, the season extends from September 1 through December.

South Fork provides expert guided fishing trips for the angler or fly fishing enthusiast or you can go fishing on your own. The Bighorn Mountains and Bighorn National Forest region has over 200 lakes and endless streams. Trout fishing is a favorite of many of our guests.
Guide and Outfitter services are also provided for hunters who obtain a Wyoming hunting license for mule deer, moose or elk. Our cabins and lodge provide a great base camp for those hunting in the Buffalo, Wyoming area of the Bighorn National Forest.
In the winter months at you can enjoy wonderful cross country skiing. Step out of your cabin door and onto the South Fork Cross Country Ski Trails System. The trail system includes marked and groomed trails as well as backcountry trails for the more adventuresome.
Our Lodge provides a great starting place for hiking and backpacking in the Bighorn Mountains and Bighorn National Forest. Just a few minutes hike from South Fork and the hiker is presented with a spectacular view of the peaks of the Bighorn Mountains. Other Bighorn National Forest Trailheads are within a few minutes drive of the Lodge.

Our Lodge and cabins are authentic log buildings with some dating back to the early 1900's. Our log structures reflect various unique architectural styles found throughout this century.
Lodging packages are also available for those who wish to combine dining or other activities with their stay at South Fork Mountain Lodge. Call the Lodge for details. Pets are also allowed in our cabins.
Many cabins overlook the picturesque South Fork of Clear Creek. You can relax on the deck of each cabin to the sound of the rustling water. If you enjoy fishing, the South Fork of Clear Creek has Rainbow and German Brown Trout.

Available Dates:
Fishing pack trips are available July and August only. These over night trips are usually 3-4 nights in the wilderness. We are the only lodge in the Big Horn Mountains that have camps in the wilderness!
Cabins rent for $99.00 to $250.00 per night depending on the cabin. Cabins sleep from 2 to 8 people. We have rustic and modern cabins available.
Pack Trips / Fishing Trips:
$ 225.00 - $ 400.00 each person per day (includes guide, cook and camp, as well as great food, your horse, pack-in and pack-out.
Price varies depending on the number of people in your group and the number of days booked.
Kids under 10 are $175.00 per kid per day.
Drop Camps:
$ 150 per day per horse - Includes pack horses, saddle, tack & pack equipment.
