Hearne Lake is home to thousands of Lake Trout. These normally deep water fish will take advantage of the cold June water temperature after ice out and feed on the top water and shallow running bait.

Fly fishing for large spawning female pike during June after ice out has become a popular sport among fly fishers. We have spent many hours studying the spawning habits of these large predators and will do our best to put you onto your trophy.

The Arctic Grayling are the Princesses of the North. Their colors and beauty are spectacular. They are taken in the Beaulieu River, which flows into Hearne from the north.

Like the trout, Whitefish are fall spawners and will gather in late August through September in the river at the outlet falls to the south.  Nymphs and wet flies seem to work best at this time.

Walleye can be taken on fly during the spring spawn up river, usually while fishing for northerns.

Our guest house was constructed in 1998.  Four separate bedrooms with 2 single beds. All with a view of the lake and outside private access. The guest house is set back from the main lodge, with a deck overlooking the pristine water of Hearne Lake. In a separate building but connected to the guesthouse, are two full bathrooms with flush toilets and shower.

The main lodge is on the waters edge.  The main lodge consists of the kitchen, dining area and sitting area where you can relax and enjoy a home cooked meal or cocktail.

Kitchen opens at 7 am.  A breakfast of your choosing is served until 10 AM. There is no rush to get on the lake with the long daylight hours.

After a good breakfast, its time to get ready to go fishing! Weather permitting a box lunch is ready for you. You can also return to the lodge for lunch.

Dinner is usually served around 7 pm so you can take advantage of the long sunlight hours and resume your fishing after your home cooked meal. That's right! People come to Hearne Lake to fish.
