The Central North Island has, without doubt, some of the best fly fishing in the world and we are located at the center of this wonderful resource. In the fly fishing world, New Zealand is one of the worst kept secrets! In the one hundred and twenty odd years since their release, own and rainbow trout have thrived in the New Zealand back country due to the unpolluted waters, a lack of natural predators, an abundance of aquatic life and an unpressured environment.

Located on the edge of Lake Taupo, on the Central Volcanic Plateau and is an easy thirty five minute flight or a leisurely four hour drive south from Auckland.

Helicopter Fishing  

Flying to remote fishing areas by helicopter is a popular option. Helicopter fly-outs to headwaters in the mountains are readily available and are a unique experience, allowing you to fish areas that see few other fishermen. Visiting anglers should budget for such a memorable treat; these remote rivers are simply superb; incredible scenery and the classic spotting and stalking experience. Of course the opportunity of fooling a 'Double Digit' fish is always a possibility.

We use Hughes 500 and Jet Ranger machines, flown by very experienced mountain pilots with thousands of hours flying time. Helicopter fishing is only available during the summer season (Nov-Apr). Most of our angling clients opt for at least one helicopter trip during their stay and it is always the highlight of the trip.

Sight fishing to a large trout is one of the most exciting forms of fly fishing. In a country with an abundant natural resource of gin clear rivers and streams, there are ample opportunities to get off the beaten track and present small flies to big trout.

New Zealand, more than any other country in the world, offers the challenge to; spot, stalk and sight fish to big, wild, owns and rainbows in crystal clear water.

When fly fishing for trout in New Zealand, local knowledge is everything, we have the experience and the knowledge to find you those big fish - after that it is all up to you!

Our Lodge  is a spacious solid wood lodge with panoramic views of Lake Taupo, total privacy, with separate guest entrances. Our Lodge caters for single parties only at a time and is completely self contained, comprising one double and two twin bedrooms, private lounge with open fire and TV, private bathroom, separate toilet and laundry facilities.  

Full accommodation includes rooms serviced daily, towels changed, Continental eakfast, pre dinner drinks and nibbles, a superb three course dinner accompanied by quality New Zealand
wines, liqueurs and includes sales tax.

Our Lodge is located on Lake Taupo on the Central Plateau of the North Island of New Zealand and I have fifteen years guiding experience, and can call on other experienced guides for assistance if required.
