Tana River is the most productive watercourse for Atlantic salmon in the world.

The last few years there has been caught 200 ton of salmon pr. year combined on Norwegian and Finnish side of the river! Half of this is caught on rod.

Tana is called Deatnu in Sami and means big river. Yes, it is really big, Tana itself is nearly 200 miles, with tributaries nearly 500 miles. In long distances it flows slow and wide on its way to the Barents Ocean, but there are several great rapids and pools you can reach from the shore.

Fly Fishing Tana River - Finnmark County is home of the worlds largest Atlantic Salmon and the Midnight Sun.

We provide you with the possibility to go to the most unique and pristine wilderness in Europe to fish in some of the finest rivers and lakes in the world.
This is not a place for delicate tackle, ing the big rod, in Tana you never know.
We recommend 13 – 15 foot rods, and strong leaders. Sink line in the early summer and intermediate and floating line in late summer.

Because of the size of the river there are long traditions of boat fishing, which is quite a bit of a speciality for the locals. It is very effective and with a good rower your chances can rise substantially.

We cooperate with experienced local rowers who know how to fool the ig ones - it's great fun and we recommend having a try at it.
