Three Day Salmon Course

Three day course aimed at beginner and intermediate level salmon fishers in September 2003. Includes Casting and watercraft tuition from professional accredited instructors. Including Three nights accommodation at a Country House Hotel, half board with packed lunches provided. The fishing will be on the Newbie& Distillery Fishings on the river Annan. Tackle and waders can be provided and non fishing partners are welcome

Itinerary

Day 1
Staying at Cressfield Country House Hotel, ecclefechan - Fishing on Annan

Tackle assembly and casting instruction on the river at Newbie. You will be introduced to various aspects of fly fishing for salmon in the differing conditions you are likely to encounter in your future Salmon fishing. Fly and line selection. Safety and wading  

Day 2
Staying at Cressfield Hotel - Fishing on Annan

Fishing on the Newbie and Distillery beat with attendance of one local guide to every pair of rods to ensure you are fishing in an informed and effective manner. Followed by a fly tying demonstration at the hotel in the evening.

Day 3
Staying at Cressfield Hotel - Fishing on Annan

A full day putting what you have learned into practice. Any problems that have occurred with casting etc can be smoothed out and a good base for future salmon fishing will be established. There are plenty of opportunities for Coastal walking, Bird watching, and Golf for non participating party members
