Finnmark The Best Fishing Area In Scandinavia

Finnmark in the northern part of Norway. Legendary fishing water for big grayling, arctic char and trout. Jiesjavre mountain area in the wilderness about 60 km from Karasjokk and 150 km from Alta. Jeisjavre lake is the Tana river source land one of Norways best grayling and arctic char water.


The fishingarea in Jiesjavvre is situated 60 km from Alta City. The fishing area is about 40 km long and 30 km wide. Alta has daily connection with flights from Oslo. It is an unspoiled tundra area with a big main lake, hundreds of small lakes and a lot of small rivers. Suite fly-fishing perfect. We have the exclusive fishing rights for foreign guests and can take 8-10 guest/week.

Travel information

The fishing camp is situated in the wilderness! You live in nice and comfortable cabins with full service if you want! The accommodation is always close to the fishing area on the beach side.

The area is still sparsely populated and the fishing pressure is low. The only habitants in the area are the native people the Sámi, you can experience their culture. You can fish from land, boat, fly-fishing float tube or by walking to remote places. Grayling, arctic char and brown trout are found. Best fishing season is July and August

main lodge:
5 comfortable rooms in the main building or 5 separate cabins with two beds each, toilet and bathroom in the main building. The facilities are tip top, with dining room, a lounge with an open fire, a modern kitchen and decent sanitation. In addition to this we have a traditional (turf hut) and a wood-fired sauna, both of which are at our guests' disposal. Transport to the Camp by jeep or aircraft!

lodge:
Two 4 bed cabins with shared toilet and sauna. Transfer from Alta airport- 1,5 hour by car and 20 minute by 3 seat aircraft to the camp. As an additional service you can reach the lakes in the outskirt of the area by aircraft. You can rent Motor boat or canoe for transport within the fishingarea. Transport to the Camp by jeep or aircraft!
