Fly Fishing Cumbria, North Lake District.

Since 1993 we have been offering unique guided fishing trips and fly casting tuition on the beautifully quiet lakes and rivers of the North Lake District.

We catch and release a wide variety of fish, including some superb salmon and sea trout, wild own trout, lots of pike, a pot or two of charr, and some huge perch.

By choice we fish the quieter Lakeland waters and also have exclusive private fishing of our own. As lifelong anglers we know which waters are fishing well, and have the skill and expertise to help you, our guest, enjoy a memorable days fishing in spectacular surroundings.

We provide all you might need for a days fishing including quality tackle, boat where appropriate, good humoured tuition, full insurance cover and safety equipment, guide service and our legendary cooked shoreline lunch. All you really need are an Environment Agency licence for the day(£2.50 from any post office) suitable footwear and a waterproof although the odd snack for the guide is always appreciated!


Salmon & Trout Fishing

North Cumbria is justifiably and historically famous for the quality of its game angling. Atlantic Salmon and Sea Trout run the rivers in large numbers from July onwards and we have access to prime exclusive water on the Eden and Derwent. Although by preference we are fly fishermen we also fish the plug and spinners when appropriate and catch and return a lot more than our fair share of fish. The trout fishing in the area is excellent and a day of guided fishing can set up the visiting angler with much insight into our local waters. We know which waters are fishing well and you, the visiting angler reap the benefit. From big rivers to small streams and the higher mountain tarns we catch and release a remarkable number of fish. (Apart from those of course, that we invite to lunch!)

Pike & Perch Fishing

Based near Keswick in the stunningly beautiful mountain scenery of the northern Lake District we have access to some world class pike and perch fishing. Typically we explore the lakes from one of our boats using a variety of different techniques including fishing trolled and static deadbaits, a range of lures and of course..some amazing fly fishing. The best fish in 2002 has been a pike of 26lb on a Pool Cue Baby and an average day tends to see up to a dozen fish coming to the boat. Safe handling is encouraged and we take great pride in returning fish to the water in pristine condition.

Local perch fishing is really superb and the ideal way to introduce youngsters of all ages to the joys of angling. Large numbers of quality fish inhabit out local lakes and itıs only a matter of time before a record fish appears. Monsters apart, we get lots of two pounders on trundled worms and the delight of watching a red tipped float dip, bob and then slide away as another istling perch takes the bait has a timeless appeal. Dads and lads days are very popular and are the ideal way to spend one of those long summer holidays.

Typically, a guided day starts around 9.00am and we'll fish to about 5.30 pm with a lunch stop somewhere along the way, but shorter sessions are available. We aim to be flexible and tailor the day to suit your requirements. If we are having a good time and the fish are feeding then the last cast can sometimes take a while!
