Salmon Fishing in Southern Oregon
Oregon (OR) — Package: 200268
Package Details and Information:
Fall - Sept. - Nov. From tidewater up to Sawyer Rapids on the Umpqua you will find Chinook and Silver salmon. The Chinook salmon can run over 30 lbs and with mild weather make for some great fishing. Nov. - Dec. The first rains bring fall Chinook into the Elk and Sixes Rivers, two of the last undamed free flowing rivers in Oregon. These fish run from 20 to 40 lbs with some in the low 50s landed every year. Rain is what keeps these rivers fishing and it takes 1 inch of rain a day to keep us fishing, but your chance at a big fish is best at this time, don't let the rain scare you away. Heated boats and good rain gear make your trip much more enjoyable.
Spring - April - May. Spring brings Chinook to the Umpqua in the 10 to 30 lb range and we fish for them with bait, plugs and spinners.
