Learn To Salmon Fish Courses

Learn to fly fish for salmon on our 4 to 6 day residential course on the River Alness in the Highlands of Scotland in October 2009.

Our courses take place on the private beats of the river belonging to Novar Estate. The beats rotate daily ensuring that you will see a variety of scenery and optimise the opportunity to catch your first salmon.

October is a prime month on the Alness and there will be many resident salmon and still a few fresh-run fish in the river.

The course is based mostly on the river, but there will also be some talks on various aspects of salmon fishing given at our base. The formal course is 4 days in duration, but students can choose to stay on additional days to fish the river unguided.

Tuition will given by a professional game angling instructor, supported by an experienced local ghillie.

Each course will be limited to just 4 anglers, ensuring plenty of personal attention coupled with expert local knowledge.

Prices are inclusive of course materials, tuition, tackle hire and fishing permits, but exclude accommodation.

Learn To Salmon Fish Courses - Our Salmon Fishing courses are based near Evanton, Ross-shire, just 20 miles north of Inverness.

Instruction and salmon fishing takes place on the River Alness, a beautiful highland salmon river running from Loch Morie to the Cromarty Firth. The Alness has good runs of salmon from late June through to mid-October.

The area is one of outstanding natural beauty, with plenty of things to see and do other than the great fishing. There are many notable places to visit within a 45 minute drive including Inverness and Loch Ness, Royal Dornoch Golf Course, the Glenmorangie Distillery and numerous castles.

Accommodation can be provided at our base or a STB 4-star guest house on the outskirts of Evanton.
