Oregon Halibut Fishing

Halibut trips are 12 hours in duration. Boats, on average, travel about 25 to 35 miles offshore. Anglers will fish in over 600 feet of water at times. The Oregon and Washington limit is one halibut per person.

This fishery is not recommended for kids under the age of 12, due to the strength of these giant flatfish and difficulty of bringing in a huge 70 to 100 pound fish. Occasionally you will also pick up Lingcod, Black Cod, and Chinook while fishing halibut. Some of out captains will fish for other species if everyone catches their limit of halibut early.

Offshore Halibut trips are very limited; they are on a set quota and fill early in the year. Contact us for season dates and details or to tenitivly resurve seats.

All equitment is provided. All you need to bring is food and drink. One-day fishing licnese avialble at charter office on morning of trip $16.75.

Oregon Halibut Fishing - Oregon Ports: Charleston, Depoe Bay, Newport, Garibaldi and Astoria.

Washington Ports: Ilwaco, Westport, Neah Bay, Bellingham and Canidan waters. Cost is higher in these areas.
Trips are run on 30 foot six person boats out of Astoria and 40 to 50 foot boats out of Newport. Boats have heated cabins and rest rooms. All bait and equipment is included. Coffiee is also available onboard. One-day fishing licnese avialble at charter office on morning of trip $16.75.

Accommodations, fish processing and shipping arrangements for your catch can be provided where needed.

The following dates halibut fishing is open, all dates not listed are closed to fishing.

Newport(central Oregon coast): Summer: Open every other Friday and Saturday (Aug. 5-6, Aug. 19-20, Sept. 2-3, Sept. 16-17, Sept.30-Oct. 1, Oct. 14-15, Oct. 28-29) or until the quota is taken.

Astoria Oregon (northern coast): Summer: Open Aug. 5,three days per week, Friday-

A 50% deposit is needed to resurve seats, fully refundable if trip is cancled 14 days prior to resurved date. Fully refundable up to day of trip is cancled by charter due to poor weather. Contact us for complete trip details.
