Sweden pike, perch, salmon and trout fishing
Sweden, Öland — Package: 1500293
Package Details and Information:
Öland is great for angling and fishing!
We are situated right by the sea and great for fishing pike, perch and salmon trout. You can bring your own equipment or lease everything that you will need, including boats. The fishing is best in the spring and fall when the fishes are more active. Here we can offer you a high class pike and sea trout fishing in Grankullaviken and the coast towards the Kalmar channel and the Baltic. Our Cabin Village and Angling Centre is situated right near the most northern point of Öland, the lighthouse "Långe Erik", and has complete facilities and cabins with own house-keeping.
We keep a high level of service in a warm familiar atmosphere. We also arrange conferences, theme days, botanical and ornithological excursions.
The most interesting fish in Grankullaviken are pike and perch as well as the sea trout which can often be fished off the coasts of northern Öland but sometimes also in the Grankulla bay. The pike is abundant and fish above 10 kgs are often caught. There is also plenty of perch and it can get quite large, some up around a couple of kgs. In the bay there is also eel, flounder, whitefish, ide and roach and sometimes even garfish.
Our waters include the Grankulla bay of approx 600 ha as well as the nearby coastal areas towards the Kalmar channel and the Baltic. The Grankulla bay is very sheltered, surrounded by peninsulas in all directions, except towards north where there is an opening wide enough to let large boats pass. As Grankullaviken is close to the open sea, the interchanging of the water is good, which ensures a fresh and clear water all year round.

Location and Fishing Information
Sweden pike, perch, salmon and trout fishing -
Spinning or fly-fishing from the coast is most common when catching sea trout. A pair of wading trousers increase the chances of reaching the fish a bit further out from land. The pike and perch is fished with a spinning rod or fishing rod from a boat in the Grankulla bay.
The fishing is free around the coasts of Öland and in the Grankulla bay but there are of course both written and unwritten laws for anglers. You are not allowed to fish closer than 100 m from the professional fishermen's tackle. You are not to take up more fish that the family can eat during the day. That means that you keep one or two fishes and let the others swim back to be caught at a later opportunity. The minimum measure for pike and sea trout is 50 cm.
Our own fishing guide has great knowledge of the area and many years experience of angling in Grankullaviken and the nearby coastal areas. He guides you both towards pike and sea trout either privately or in small or large groups.
We have 10 modern boats of the make Linder. They are made of non-polluting aluminium and of course unsinkable. They are equipped with a Yamaha 4 hp engine, oars and a bailer.
Bait, rods, landing-nets and other fishing gear can be bought at our shop as well as various maps and nautical charts over Grankullaviken. In the book stall there are books on fishing, dictionaries and recipe books.

Available Dates:
Pike and perch fishing starts in March and is good up until the middle of summer. The sea trout fishing ends in the middle or end of May when the sea trout swims out towards deeper waters but in the autumn when the temperature of the water is lower they come back towards the coast.
During October and all through the ice free part of the winter the fishing is good. In the summer the pikes are found in the deep waters and with the right technique they can be caught. The perch likes it in the Grankulla bay all the year round but the fishing gets really good towards autumn when the pike season also starts again.
September and all through to when there is ice on the water is a very good time to fish.

"I have been fishing with Capt. Matt for over six years now and keeping coming back for more. Capt. Matt is one of the best guides I have ever fished with; he works hard and you catch fish, but as importantly Capt Matt teaches you about the places you are fishing and provides good conversation and company. I would recommend him in a heartbeat to anyone who is a light tackle or fly angler enthusiast and wants to have a great day on the water!"
