please note 2004 was a fantastic year on The Nith, however given the variable nature of salmon fishing and river heights, catching salmon is an uncertainty on any river.

Given good conditions and a run of fish, good fishing can be expected on fly, spinning and worming.

Easily accessible from the M6.

Ryehill beat,
Sanquahar, Dumffrieshire.
Upper Nithsdale.
The River Nith runs into the Solway Firth, Dumffriesshire, Southwest Scotland.
This is a private beat taking ideally 5 or maybe 6 rods if necc. There are 8 named pools in approx 3/4 mile of single bank fishing. Most of the opposite bank is overgrown so it never gets busy.
There is plenty of open fly water but spinner and worm can be used at any height.
The beat is in Upper Nithsdale and fishes best from late September to the end of November. It is a true 'back end' river with fresh fish entering right through till the season's end, with heavyweight fish entering at any time.

Excellent Accommodation in twin or single rooms in Thornhill, a lovely town, with good pubs and shops.
All meals will be included, with a riverside alfresco lunch.

By arrangement, 3 day breaks either mon, tue, wed or thurs, fri, sat. Sept to end November.
