Fly Fishing In West Georgia

Georgia (GA) — Package: 200735

Package Details and Information:

Depending on the location we offer wading trips, float trips via canoes & kayaks, float tubes on small ponds, and from a jet outboard river boat on big rivers.

We fish twelve months a year. The mild climate and the variety of species mean that fishing is good somewhere, regardless of the season. We fish almost every day and know where it's happening.

Georgia has over 2000 miles of trout water, including special regulation and trophy streams. Plus, we do guided trips on private water on the Soque River at the famous Brigadoon Lodge and at Blackhawk.

The variety of setting is considerable, ranging from small high-elevation brook trout streams to the big water of the Chattahoochee and Toccoa Rivers. Beginners and old pros, there's something for all in north Georgia.

West Point Lake is one of the finest bass fishing lakes in the country, it also contains a good spotted bass population, plenty of hybrid and white bass, crappie and catfish.

Bass, bream, even trout in the winter, all in one of the most beautiful places on earth. Callaway Gardens is a family resort, a botanical garden, a nature preserve, a golf resort, host to the Master's Water Ski tournament, and much more. Most importantly, if you have your priorities arranged correctly, is the fly fishing for bass, trout and big bull bream!

Location and Fishing Information

Fly Fishing In West Georgia - In West Georgia there are some of the most beautiful spots in the country - Callaway Gardens, the Flint River and north Georgia trout streams to name a few.

Unbeknownst to much of the country, the variety and the quality of fly fishing in West Georgia and East Alabama is some of the best in the country. It is a year-round fishery less than an hour from the Atlanta airport.
Fly Fishing in West Georgia offers an almost infinite variety of species - trout, bass, shoal bass, striper, bream, carp.

We also have a few small streams whose names we cannot divulge that offer great fishing for the shoalies. In addition to the shoal bass, the Flint and these other streams support a healthy population of red-breasted (longear) sunfish.

Available Dates:

Beginning in November or December, the striped and hybrid bass will get very active on the Chattahoochee. If you're interested in tangling with some of these bruisers, winter is the time to do it.

"The best single day's fishing I have had! I had an 89lb Mekong on within minutes of starting fishing. My arms didn't get much of a rest with another 10 or so big Cats coming to the net, with the best being the last fish of the day: a magnificent 95lb Mekong, which provided an epic fight. I'll be back!"
