Scenic French Fishing

Indeed, water is a feature of the landscape of our village site. The small river le Loing runs on to the banks of the lodgings.

30 meters next to the lodges, are very pleasant fishing spots, available for children and adults. Many other peaceful places are located close to the Loing river... please feel free to discover them.

Not only are the lodgings approved by Gite de Peche, they also attain a special fishing distinction from the national renting lodgings Les Gites de France. You will find a special room for fishermen which contains a sink, fishing rod rack, fridge, fishpond, table and heater.

The Vendée is dynamic and a special tourist region. It benefits from an extraordinary framework, taking in to its advantage the coast and its islands, as well as its bocage and countryside.

In the heart of the Vendean bocage, the lodgings are near historical buildings (castles, keeps...) and provide access to all kinds of sporting activities (tennis, swimming, boating...). We ensure that your visit will be too short to discover all of our beautiful area!

Scenic French Fishing - Located in Le Bocage Vendéen, 35 minutes from Le Puy du Fou, and less than 45 minutes from the sea and the Poitevin marsh, our small village offers you a nice discovery of countryside living.


In a preserved environment, this small village of former millers has kept its authenticity and its cordial environment. A causeway, a large garden surrounded by a river with pristine water (really nice for fishing), hiking and mountain biking trails... and other tourism activities, ensures a pleasant stay for couples or families.
Le Loing river (6 km in length): It is the river which runs around us, the arm of Le Lay river, upstream of Bazoges in Pareds.

- Le Petit Lay river (15 km in length): from Ste Cecile to L'Assemblee des 2 Lays.

- Le Lay (90 km in length): from St Pierre du Chemin to La Faute sur Mer, it is one of the most important rivers of Vendee.

- L'Angle Guignard dam (55 hectares): A very pretty water reserve on Le Lay.

- The lake of Rochereau (127 hectares): Le Lay passes by the lake of Rochereau, located at 3 km of the lodgings. The Lake has a course for fishing carp at night on 2 km’s of bank.

We can offer to you two lodges which were rebuilt in 2000: l'Hirondelle and l'Epervier, with a capacity to house 5 and 10 persons respectively (12 persons is possible in the mezzanine). The lodges are rated 3 epis by "Les Gites de France".


Here you will find a comfortable lodge, a mix of tradition and modernity. The lodges are adjoined and yet completely separated. Both lodges have a terrace, barbecue and fire place.

Fishing is open all year round, except for the specific closing period of pike (January 31st and April 14th) and of trout (January 1st, March 10th, September 18th, and December 31st).
