A spate (mountain) river running from peat bogland in the Comeragh Mountains, This gin clear stream has exceptional stocks of trout averaging 0.25 lbs to 0.75 lbs (25 - 35 cm).

You will get the highest level of guiding. Our guides are very experienced and have intimate knowledge of the rivers and techniques that fish best on them.

Fly Fishing Ireland -
There is a good stock of bigger fish, but these are seldom caught. The record for this river was a 6lb 4 oz (65cm) trout, caught by a guest.

This river bed is mainly slippery stones and rocks, so felt soles are recommended here.

Fly hatches include caddis, plecoptera, baetis, ephemeroptera etc.

Our Guesthouse is situated on a working farm in the Nire Valley. The *** three star Guesthouse has 10 bedrooms with private facilities, all of which have direct dial telephones. Breakfast is served in our large dining room.
