LAKE MEAD offers a multi-species lineup:

Large mouth bass are present throughout the system.

Crappie in sizable numbers reside in the northern end of the lake near Overton.

Carp are everywhere and can run to 30+ pounds.

Bluegill have a small population but are not pressured much and can grow to bull size.

Channel catfish range throughout and most run from 1 to 7 pounds with many lunkers waiting to be caught.

Rainbow trout used to be a mainstay but now are mostly planters and some larger specimens not pressured.

Small mouth bass have found their way in but are in short supply.

Tilapia were illegally introduced by bucket biologists and have taken hold in numbers not yet determined.

Razorback suckers are on the endangered list.
