Yorkshire Dales Reservoir Boat Flyfishing
England, North Yorkshire — Package: 1100896
Package Details and Information:
Flyfishing from a boat for rainbow trout generally requires casting quite long distances and good line control, therefore this package is more suited to the intermediate or experienced flyfisher. This package is not suited to a beginner or novice fly fisher who should take a look at some of my other packages.
During your day afloat I will introduce you to some of the many methods of drift (loch style) fishing for rainbow and brown trout. The trout will respond to a variety of methods and a day afloat will typically allow you to catch on dry fly, nymph and wets/lures. At certain times of the year and in some conditions you will need to use a variety of sinking lines and the tactics that go with them. I will instruct you in all these methods if that is what you require or simply put you in the best areas so that you can fish as you like.
If this is your first time flyfishing from a boat I will introduce you to and explain how Loch style fishing is done; from casting off from the boat jetty, operating the engine, setting the drogue, drifting, etiquette in a boat, etc...

Location and Fishing Information
Yorkshire Dales Reservoir Boat Flyfishing - The Yorkshire Dales are situated in North Yorkshire, in the north of England.
They are Justifiably famous for the outstanding scenery and unspoilt open spaces they offer the visitor.
The surrounding countryside is dominated by limestone in various formations, left behind as a result of the ice age. This limestone raises the PH value of the rivers and lakes in the area making them rich in fly life.
My name is Stuart Minnikin and I am a qualified fly fishing instructor and guide and England International fly fisher. I will be your instructor/guide for the day on a Yorkshire Dales reservoir. I will 'captain' the boat so that you can concentrate on the fishing.
I will take you to the best drifts and advise you on the best tactics to use. Fishing will be from a large specially designed, fully equiped boat. All boats have petrol engines and are equipped with anchor, life jacket and flare. All other necessary boat fishing equipment is provided and I can also supply you with tackle for the day if required.

"Thank you for such a fantastic day on the River Ure, it exceeded my expectations by a considerable margin!
I won't hesitate to be in touch to arrange another lesson. Thanks again for your company, expertise and not least your patience!"Steve A. ~ United Kingdom "Many thanks for the couple of days instruction last week - I really enjoyed it! As I said at the time, the main thing I wanted to come away with was the feeling that I could get to grips with casting (eventually) and would be able to improve - and you achieved that and more! Thanks again!"

"Great job Frank ... see you next year!" It was my first trip fishing to Canada and I took my 80 year old parents with me. The great thing about Frank and the people who stay there is they really make you feel like family. Everyone was catching Dollies and Cutthrout Trouts, when my mother hooked a monster. As it was taking the line off her reel, I must have gotten the fish's mate, as I hook this monster who proceeded to do the same to my reel. A hour later I've got the lodge record !!!."
