This package is aimed at the flyfisher who has a reasonable level of casting and fishing knowledge, up to anglers with much experience who simply wanting guiding to the best rivers in the Yorkshire Dales. If you are a newcomer to river flyfishing or only have limited experience fishing rivers I will teach you all the essential skills required to achieve success. This will include fishing the North Country Spider (wet fly), dry fly, upstream nymph, Czech nymph and the 'duo' method. I will show you how to read the river to maximise your chances and how to approach the fish.

The target species will be brown trout and grayling, mainly on the rivers Wharfe, Nidd and Ure, but if you prefer I can take you to just about any other river or beck in the Yorkshire Dales. I can provide all the necessary tackle required, including waders in most sizes and I also have flies available for purchase.

Yorkshire Dales River Flyfishing Course - The Yorkshire Dales are situated in North Yorkshire, in the north of England.

They are Justifiably famous for the outstanding scenery and unspoilt open spaces they offer the visitor.

The surrounding countryside is dominated by limestone in various formations, left behind as a result of the ice age. This limestone raises the PH value of  the rivers and lakes in the area making them rich in fly life and perfect for fly fishing.
The Yorkshire Dales have some superb, world-class rivers, home to both native brown trout and grayling. The rivers Wharfe, Ure, Nidd and Ribble provide some of the finest river fishing available anywhere, all year round. There are many other fine small streams (known locally as beck’s) and tributaries all containing trout and some with grayling too if you want to ‘get away from it all’.

My name is Stuart Minnikin and I am a qualified fly fishing instructor and guide and England International fly fisher. You will be guided by me to the best places and pools and shown the best methods to succeed.

Accommodation can be arranged in one of my approved pubs/hotels or cottages. All the accommodation I offer is fishing friendly, close to great fly fishing and situated in beautiful Yorkshire Dales villages or countryside.

The hotels/pubs all serve good food and have well stocked bars and the cottages are within casting distance of a pub or restaurant.
