Location and Fishing Information
Guided Brown Trout Fishing Trip - From your pick-up point in Inverness we will travel north-east to Caithness.
We stay in Dunnet for 3 nights and fish 3 of the local lochs set in rural Caithness
On the 4th day we head south to fish Loch Eye in Easter Ross, then on to Evanton where you stay the last night before your departure the following day from Inverness.
Should you choose to extend this trip, we can travel west from Dunnet to Durness to fish the famous limestone lochs before heading south towards Inverness through the spectacular mountains of Assynt.
At Dunnet, Caithness, we fish St Johns Loch, Loch Watten and Loch Toftinghall. All lochs hold quality wild trout averaging over 1lb, with many larger fish caught annually. Traditional loch style wet fly fishing and modern stillwater tactics are both equally effective.
In Ross-shire, we fish Loch Eye, one of the most productive lochs on the Scottish mainland.
If you choose an extended option, in Durness we fish the crystal clear limestone lochs of the Cape Wrath Hotel. On Loch Borralie the wild brown trout average about 1½ lbs. The trout on Loch Caladail are harder to catch, but are even larger averaging over 2 lbs, with many fish of over 4lbs caught every year. Buzzer, nymph and dry fly tactics are most successful.
