You probably won’t be guiding, fishing, product testing and photographing every day of the year like John so your breathables won’t need to be your second skin. But it’s worth buying the best for comfort, for efficiency and because you’ll know they will last.

The most important reason, though, for buying breathable waders is because they will simply reinvent your fishing. In breathables you can walk miles during the course of a blistering hot day. Remember how by lunchtime your old rubber boots had more water in them than the river, well no more. And don’t think breathables are for warm weather only.
